IMMOVABLE SUN
Immovable Sun is a sculptural installation that explores the relative spacings of objects within our universe. Its large spherical presence emanating light from within serves as an analogue to our own sun within our solar system. The art piece looks at the macro, micro and universal scales, bringing them together on a unified surface. The etched patterns depict our own place in the universe, on a human macro scale, visualizing human movement within our planet and migratory patterns. The tiny perforations spilling light from a central constant source aim to visualize the spacings of atoms within matter - tiny points all separated by empty space. Large pixels of animated light serve to visualize the many suns situated amongst dense clustered groupings of galaxies within the universe - surrounded by vast expanses of emptiness. Immovable Sun aims to evoke strong feelings of sublime thought in observers as they gaze at the interlinking complexities of the artwork.
